JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), your primary responsibility is to deliver personal assistance and support activities of daily living to patients, clients, or residents who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. This includes providing comfort and support services to individuals in various settings such as homes, communities, or healthcare facilities.
You’ll collaborate closely with patients, their families, and caregivers across the continuum of care, ensuring that their needs are met with compassion and professionalism. Your role is pivotal in delivering safe, high-quality patient and family-centered care, all while embodying the shared vision and values of the Alberta Health Services (AHS).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Active Directory Status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory:
Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrollment from the Directory at [https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/](https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/).
2. Nursing Students Currently Enrolled in an Approved Alberta Nursing Program:
Must have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum.
Must be either:
– In their 1st year of a practical nursing program.
– In their 2nd year of a baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program.
3. Attestation of Compliance and Proof of Qualification:
Must attest to compliance with the above requirements.
Must provide proof of qualification, which may include transcripts, practicum logs, or other relevant documentation.
